Decorative Flake High Build System
Topcoat – UV Topcoat Polyaspartic or Polyurethane - Clear
The system is finished with a UV-stable clear top coat using either Polyaspartic or Polyurethane, depending on the selected system. This final layer enhances the surface’s gloss or satin finish while protecting against yellowing, UV degradation, stains, and everyday wear. It also improves cleanability and can be customised with slip-resistant additives for added safety in wet or high-traffic areas.
Entrapment Coat – UV 100% Solid Epoxy or UV Polyaspartic or UV Polyurethane - Clear
Once the flake layer is set, a clear entrapment coat is applied to lock the flakes in place. Depending on the project requirements, clients can choose from a UV 100% solid epoxy or a fast-curing polyaspartic ideal for quicker turnaround times and UV exposure, or a tough UV polyurethane that offers exceptional chemical and wear resistance. This coat smooths the surface and prepares it for the final finish.
Base Coat – 100% Solid Epoxy - Tinted with Broadcast Flake
The next step involves applying a second layer of the same high-quality tinted epoxy. This base coat builds thickness and strength into the system while acting as the binding layer for the decorative flakes. It also improves the overall resistance of the floor to chemicals, abrasion, and impact.
Prime Coat – 100% Solid Epoxy - Tinted
The first coating layer is a tinted epoxy primer, designed to penetrate into the concrete and create a secure bond. This also helps seal the surface, reducing absorption and supporting consistent colour throughout the system. The tint is chosen to match the desired final look.
